Mouse sneaks in home through wall. Mouse droppings and chewed wires. Squirrel climbs on feeder. Rat found; entered home via toilet.
How to get rid of mice, rats, squirrels and more:
Because rodents are sensitive to ultrasound and often communicate using high-frequency transmissions, Bird-X ultrasonic products are an excellent way to repel mice and rats on your property. Both the Transonic PRO and the Transonic Bugchaser are effective indoor solutions. To get rid of rodents in small outdoor spaces – backyards, patios, gardens, etc. – we recommend the Yard Gard device.
Another option for outdoor rodent control is Nature’s Defense Mouse and Rat Repellent. These 100% organic repellent granules can be sprinkled along foundations, basement windows, patio and garden perimeters, etc. to create an irritant scent barrier that deters pesky rodent intruders.
When we hear the word 'rodent', we generally think of mice and rats. But another common pest rodent is the squirrel. Pest squirrels can cause a variety of problems. Serious squirrel problems include chewing on wires, tearing apart insulation, and gnawing wooden trim, siding, window frames, etc. Other irritating squirrel habits include climbing and pillaging bird feeders, burying and digging up nuts, destroying lawn furniture cushions, nibbling garden vegetables, digging in flowerbeds, and stealing from fruit trees and bushes. If a squirrel gets inside your home, it can be very difficult to remove. Yard Gard, Transonic PRO and Nature's Defense are effective pest squirrel repellent solutions.

Health risks associated with rodents:
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention: Worldwide, rats and mice spread over 35 diseases. These diseases can be spread to humans directly, through handling of rodents, through contact with rodent feces, urine, or saliva, or through rodent bites. Diseases carried by rodents can also be spread to humans indirectly through ticks, mites or fleas that have fed on an infected rodent.
A few of the diseases rodents are known to carry and transmit to humans include:
- Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome
- Lymphocytic Chorio-meningitis (LCM)
- Human Granulocytic Anaplasmosis
- Lyme Disease
